The community of the Lamb
was recognized on Feb 6th 1983 by Mgr Jean
CHABBERT, then archbishop-bishop of Perpignan;
and on July 16th 1983 on the day of Our
Lady of Mount Carmel as a “new branch on
the tree of the Order of Preachers” by Fr.
Vincent de COUESNONGLE O.P., then Master
of the Order of Preachers.Since June 29th
1996, Mgr Christoph SCHÖNBORN, archbishop
of Vienna (Austria) is the bishop in charge
of the community. The Community is in fact a Public Association of Faithful in view of becoming a congregation.
