Building Lumen Crucis monastery
Lumen Crucis (The Light of the Cross) is the name of the monastery that the little brothers are building in Navalón.

With all our heart we wish to thank all who help us. A special thank you to all the young adults that have come up with so much willingness at a moment’s notice. They are the cornerstone of this “land for God”. THANK YOU ALL! THANKS TO ALL THE YOUNG PEOPLE!
We wish that this place may be a place of light and peace where all who come may experience the love of God: the lamb that “wounded, will never cease to love.”

The testimony of the first gift:
We would like to share with you the story of the first gift received after the 16th of July in 2012, which was the day we officially received the property

“Two copper coins…”
We were in Mass. It was the feast-day of the Transfiguration, and a few days before one of the brothers was thinking about the construction of the Lumen Crucis monastery and said a prayer to Saint Joseph: “Send us a a big blessing, a big donor in order to be able to begin”.The Gospel of the 7th of August in 2012 speaks of an extremely poor widow, that did not have enough money even to live, only two little coins. In spite of this she gives them away, giving away everything that she possesses and nobody sees her. No one except Jesus, who gathers his disciples together so that they too may watch and learn from her. The Gospel tells us: “And he sat down opposite the treasury, and watched the multitude putting money into the treasury. Many rich people put in large sums. And a poor widow came, and put in two copper coins, which make a penny. And he called his disciples to him, and said to them, ‘Truly, I say to you, this poor widow has put in more than all those who are contributing to the treasury. For they all contributed out of their abundance; but she out of her poverty has put in everything she had, her whole living.’”(Mk 12: 41-44)

Once the Mass had finished, a child went with his parents to speak with one of the brothers. The parents told the brother: “a few days ago our son decided to give all of his savings for the construction of the little brothers’ little monastery in Navalón”. Then the seven-year-old boy, while smiling put his little hand in his pocket and quite naturally gave away all of his savings, all the money he possessed, to the little brother for the monastery. Which consisted of two coins of 2 euros each. Two coins! The brother, overcome with emotion, took this offering and remembered the prayer made to Saint Joseph a few days before: “The big blessing, the big donor…” This is the answer given to us by divine providence. This was the first blessing after we had received the property. A ‘word of God’ for us. Two coins… a child… a great donor… the first stone. God is here with us! Therefore, why bother ourselves with worrying?
